Academy Films have just made two new additions to their music video directors’ roster, signing Us Design Studio and Paul Bryan.
Us are Christopher Barrett and Luke Taylor, who both studied graphic design at Kingston, where they won a D&AD award for their Thom Yorke video. After graduation in 2007 they formed US design in 2007 with a broad brief, and found immediate acclaim with their first official music video earlier this year, the mesmeric clip for Ninja Tune hiphop artist Dels’ Shapeshift (above).
Christopher and Luke have followed up by recently directing a second, equally inventive video for Dels – again demonstrating their strong graphic sensibility and subtle humour, for Trumpalump, featured on Promo earlier this week.
Paul Bryan, who graduated from Loughborough this year, has also made his mark on music videos with his excellent clip for Blake, What I Like (Knuckles re-mix). Olympus Cameras have chosen Paul to exclusively test their new camera to be released later this year. Paul was also runner up for the Panasonic Next Generation Talent Award 2009.
